Kuldip has more than twenty years
of experience in basic and detail design engineering.
He has worked on various upstream oil and gas (onshore
and offshore), petrochemical and refinery projects.
His job responsibilities have included complete basic
and detailed design engineering, starting with development
of P&IDs in co-ordination with the Process group,
reviews of basic design documents with process licensors,
developing philosophies for instrumentation, sizing
and selection of instrumentation including control
valves, relief valves and flow elements, preparation
of instrument specifications including for Distributed
Control Systems (DCS), and Programmable Logic Controllers
(PLC), technical evaluation of vendors’ offers,
preparation of engineering drawings and documents
like logic drawings, loop diagrams hook-ups layout
plans, etc.
As Lead Engineer on projects, Kuldip’s
job responsibilities have included supervision of
the group, co-ordination and design reviews with clients,
preparation of manhours estimates and project work
schedules.
He has carried out implementation of several innovative
technologies like PLC based Wellhead Control Panels,
Coriolis Mass Flowmeter based Net Oil Computers for
Test Separators, Gas Metering Systems using K-lab
Conditioners, Hydrostatic Tank Gauging System, Wet
Gas Venturimeters.
Kuldip has performed third party
reviews of work performed by Engineering Contractors,
on behalf of ExxonMobil Exploration and Production
Malaysia, Inc (EMEPMI) and Sarawak Shell Berhad (SSB).
He was responsible for writing the company’s
General Specification for Custody Transfer Metering
Systems for EMEPMI.
As Discipline Manager, he is responsible for the
productivity and quality of the Instrument Department.
He is also responsible for the development and training
of manpower.
