Conceptual & Detailed
Design of St. Joseph Re-Development Project
The St. Joseph field is located in the South China Sea
about 35 kilometers off the coast of Usukan Bay and
about 178 kilometers North East of Labuan. The water
depth in the area is about 38.7 meters. St Joseph field
is a cluster of Drilling Jackets (SJJT-A, B, F, G and
H), Production Platform SJP-A, Riser Platform SJR-A,
Compression Platform SJK-A and Vent/Flare Jacket SJV-A.
The facilities in North Sabah are more than 20 years
old, currently unamanned and maintained from an onshore
living quarters based in Kota Belud. Due to the high
operational and maintenance activities required, staff
travel on a daily basis by bus to Usukan Bay then
a number of crew boats transport staff to the platforms
(weather permitting).
With some 80 personnel traveling to the field each
day, existing facilities cannot be considered un-manned.
Therefore, a new 80 personnel living quarter together
with a combined water treatment /injection system
with a design capacity of 60,000 bwpd will be installed
on a new SJQ-A Platform. The new SJQ-A will have a
minimum design life of 20 years and it will be bridge
link to SJP-A Platform.
The scope of work will include the conceptual and
detailed design of St. Joseph Redevelopment Project
namely:
1. Topsides and substructure of a new SJQ-A Platform.
2. New pipelines and subsea cables from SJQ-A to SJJT-G
and SJJT-H for hook up of 6 water injection wells
3. A new bridge linking SJQ-A to SJP-A
4. Smart Facilities at SJJT-G & SJJT-H for WI
5. Improved well test metering for all SJ satellite
jackets
6. Power Infrastructure upgrade and distribution
7. Hook-up of 5 infill production wells.
