MMC Oil & Gas Engineering had provided the preliminary design assessment to confirm the conceptual design parameters, detailed designs, procurement assistance and construction support for the topside facilities for the Lawit 'A' Gas Complex for EPMI. The work was completed in eighteen months, starting from July 1993 and ending in February 1995.

For this project, MMC Oil & Gas Engineering had provided the preliminary design assessment to confirm the conceptual design parameters, detailed designs, procurement assistance and construction support for the topside facilities for the Lawit 'A' Gas Complex for EPMI. The complex includes a production platform, a riser platform that is connected by an interplatform bridge to the production platform, a vent bridge and a vent boom. The facilities consist of 5 modules including wellhead, process, utilities and an SF that was designed to locate more process facilities and utilities. The work leading to the issuance of construction packages was completed in eighteen months, starting from July 1993 and ending in February 1995.

This project utilized a total of 160,000 man-hours for the detailed design and a further 30,000 man- hours for post-IFC and construction support. The topside facilities weigh 12,300MT in totality, 9,000MT of which come from the production platform.

The main equipment includes a glycol dehydration package, turbine generators, production separators, well stream coolers, firewater pump packages, metering skids and electrical and instrument packages. A total of 4,500 drawings were issued during the detailed design and these drawings were all completed on AutoCAD.

Extensive design reviews were conducted including internal and combined reviews with EPMI. Other reviews conducted also include HAZOP, IDDA, Noise, Acoustic Induced Vibration and Scale Model. The project quality system was undertaken in Full compliance to MS ISO 9001.

The facility was fabricated by local fabricator and the platform was commissioned and started up in April 1997.
