On Thursday, 5th December 2019, MMCOG invited representative from Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM) to provide briefing on the new section 17A MACC Act 2009 on Corporate Liability due to be enforced June 2020. This awareness was important to ensure that staff of MMCOG understands definition of bribery and corruption, and penalty consequences to its practice. The briefing also gave insight on how it should be addressed,  should the situation is encountered. At the end of the briefing, all employees are required to comply to corruption-free pledging and signing ceremony.

The opening speech was given by Ts Sharifah Zaida Nurlisha, CEO of MMCOG, who had emphasised the importance of creating a corruption-free environment in MMCOG to ensure sustainability of the company.

The briefing was delivered by PKPs. Muhamad Sufian Bin Shafie from SPRM. He presented on how bribery act covers four offences which individual or corporate bodies can be prosecuted. The four offences included bribing a person, accepting a bribe and negligent by commercial organisation to prevent bribery. The briefing done presented the basis for strengthening the internal control of our organisation by detecting, preventing, managing, enforcing as well as improving effective anti-corruption measures.

Towards the end of the occasion, an Anti-Corruption Free Pledge was signed and read under oath by all MMCOG employees an effort in combating corruption and bribery.
